Corrections Policy

The archive is a ledger. We do not pretend a package was always right. If a fact was wrong, we say so in the open.

What we correct

Names, numbers, dates, places, who did what, and any statement that would not survive the primary record. Spelling in a headline if it changes meaning. We do not “correct” tone or a reader’s disagreement with a sourced finding.

How it appears

A published package keeps its URL. A correction is added to the story as a dated note — what was wrong, what is right, and the record that settled it. We do not silently rewrite history in the bound volumes.

How to send one

Use Contact. Put CORRECTION in the proposed headline. Cite the story, the sentence, and the public record. The clerk may draft a note. A human still publishes it.

Silence after a good catch is a failure of the desk, not of the reader.
