Ethics Policy

We print what we can source. We do not print what would mainly serve to injure a private person.

People

No medical details, home addresses, or accusations without a public record. Community tips are treated as tips, not as copy. Names of private individuals stay out unless the record already put them there.

Conflicts

The publisher lives in Waukesha County. Local water, roads, shops, and jobs are the beat, not a brochure. If a package touches the publisher’s own work or kin, say so in the dek or do not print it.

The clerk

The AI drafts and flags. It does not invent citations. It does not publish. Confidence scores are a clerk’s note, not a halo. A human still reads the four blocks as if a hostile shop steward were in the room.

Independence

No paid placement in the news columns. When local advertising exists, it will be labeled and kept off the package. We do not take a party’s line in exchange for access.

Harm we did print is handled under Corrections.
